チームのパワーランキングは楽しいものですが、ディフェンスに注目すると、今季はどのチームが期待できるのでしょうか？
ＮＦＬオフィシャルに、Adam Scheinの作ったディフェンスランキングがありましたので、覗いてみましょう

1) Jacksonville Jaguars
Yep, the Jaguars will have the best defense in football this season. Why? Well, they're oozing with talent at every level.
Starting up front, Calais Campbell is the ultimate leader. And the versatile 31-year-old just got to the quarterback a career-high (and AFC-best) 14.5 times last season. It's not that opposing offenses overlook the 6-foot-8, 300-pound behemoth; the Jacksonville D just has so much to account for. Flanking Campbell up front: Malik Jackson, Marcell Dareus and the grossly underrated Yannick Ngakoue, who quietly piled up 12 sacks and six forced fumbles in 2017. I haven't even mentioned Dante Fowler Jr., who, yes, needs to stop fighting teammates and start living up to his No. 3 overall pick pedigree. Nor have I spoken of first-round pick Taven Bryan. Bottom line: This is the best and deepest defensive line in the game today.
１位：ジャクソンビル・ジャガーズ
そう、ジャガーズが今季のＮＦＬでベストのディフェンスを持ってるだろう。なぜか？ それぞれのポジションに、才能ある選手が余るほどいるからだ。
まずはディフェンスライン。カライアス・キャンベルが絶対的なリーダー。使い勝手のいい選手（※ＤＴでもＤＥでもプレー）で31歳。昨季は自身キャリアハイ（かつＡＦＣベストの）14.5サックを挙げた。身長６フィート８インチ（203センチ）の、体重は300ポンド（136キロ）の巨漢を、相手オフェンスが見過ごしたからサックできたわけではない。ジャガーズのディフェンスラインにはキャンベルの他にも注意すべき選手がいるからだ。
マリク・ジャクソン、マーセル・ダリアス、それにヤニク・インガクエももっと評価されていい選手で、昨季は12サック、６ファンブルフォースを挙げた。これだけ選手を挙げて、まだダンテ・ファウラー・ジュニアもいる。この選手は、まあ、まずチームメートとのケンカをやめて（※キャンプ中にラムジーと口論して１週間謹慎）１巡目全体３位指名という経歴に見合った活躍をするだろう。
まだいる。今季１巡目指名（全体29位）のタベン・ブライアンだ。要するに、ジャガーズのディフェンスラインは、リーグベストだし最も層が厚い。

On the second level, Telvin Smith is an athletic tackling machine who's also good in coverage -- basically the ideal modern linebacker. And Myles Jack brings the same kind of skill set.
Last, but certainly not least, Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye comprise the top cornerback pairing in the NFL. By a pretty good margin. These two are so good that the safeties (Barry Church and Tashaun Gipson) go completely overlooked, but that's a dandy duo in its own right.
Jacksonville enters the 2018 campaign squarely in Super Bowl contention because Jacksonville has an embarrassment of riches on the defensive side of the ball.
ＬＢ陣には、テルビン・スミスは身体能力に優れたタックルマシーンであり、パスカバーもできる、現代のアメフトにおける理想的なＬＢだ。マイルズ・ジャックも同じ種類の特徴のある選手。

2) Minnesota Vikings
This defense is coached up incredibly well. No surprise: It's a Mike Zimmer defense. And the unit possesses three bona fide stars: DE Everson Griffen, CB Xavier Rhodes and S Harrison Smith. Rhodes and Smith earned first-team All-Pro honors last season, and Griffen was en route to such an honor (with 10 sacks in the first eight games) before a torn plantar fascia sapped his production down the back half of the season.
２位：ミネソタ・バイキングス
とてもよくコーチを受けて、統制の取れたディフェンスだ。それはそうだろう。ヘッドコーチがマイク・ジマーだから。
この守備陣には、本物のスターが３人いる。ＤＥのエバーソン・グリフェン、ＣＢゼイビア・ローズ、Ｓハリソン・スミス。
ローズとスミスは昨季のオールプロ1stチームに選出されたし、グリフェンは足底筋膜のけがでシーズン後半失速することがなければ、オールプロ級の力を見せていた（最初の８試合で10サックを挙げた）。

3) Arizona Cardinals
Surprised to see Arizona ranked this high? Don't be. The Cards have some special individuals, and I love the stamp new coach and defensive guru Steve Wilks is putting on this team in the early goings.
Patrick Peterson is like a blanket in the defensive backfield. When I asked Vikings star Xavier Rhodes on SiriusXM Radio this summer who is the best corner in the league -- besides himself, obviously -- he didn't hesitate: It's Peterson. And Rhodes studies him. Smart.
３位：アリゾナ・カーディナルス
アリゾナをこの順位に入れて、高すぎると驚いたかもしれないが、驚くことはない。カーディナルスには、特別な選手が何人もいる。ディフェンスの権威とも言えるスティーブ・ウィルクスをヘッドコーチに招いた（※昨季までパンサーズでディフェンシブコーディネーターを務めていた）のは期待できるし、就任直後からやってくれそうだ。
ＣＢパトリック・ピーターソンはバック・フィールドを覆う毛布のような存在だ。バイキングスのゼイビア・ローズに最近聞いたことがある。「誰がベストＣＢか（自分自身以外で）」と。彼はためらわずにピーターソンと答えた。ローズはピーターソンを手本にしているらしい。なんと賢い。
Chandler Jones never gets the credit he deserves. Who led the NFL in sacks last season? Who has the most sacks over the last five seasons? Yep, it's Jones on both fronts. The guy's a true sack artist.
Budda Baker and Haason Reddick are young studs who could really emerge in Year 2. And David Johnson being healthy will help keep this defense fresh.
ＤＥチャンドラー・ジョーンズはもっと評価されていい選手だ。昨季ＮＦＬのサックリーダーは？ この５年で最多のサックを挙げた選手は？ それぞれ、ジョーンズが答えだ。本物の「サック・アーティスト」だ。
Ｓブッダ・ベイカーとＬＢハサン・レディックは２年目でさらに躍進する可能性を持った選手だ。また、ＲＢのデイビッド・ジョンソンがけがなく活躍できれば、（オフェンスのドライブがランで時間をかけながら続くことで）ディフェンスはフレッシュにプレーできるだろう。
